Our Mission

Horizon Christian Schools is an educational community gathered around the person of Jesus Christ and grounded by Biblical truth. We seek to provide a comprehensive education, in harmony with the purposes of God for each student and in partnership with parents, producing students who are fully alive.

Our Motto

Bringing LIFE to Learning!

Our Beginnings

Horizon Christian Schools (HCS) was founded in 1980 as a ministry of Grace (now Horizon) Community Church in Tualatin, Oregon.  Since then, HCS has grown from a small preschool of 30 children to an expansive educational program with over 400 students.

Who We Are

Horizon Christian Schools is comprised of two schools situated on two different campuses:  Horizon Christian Elementary & Middle School and Horizon Christian High School.  We serve children from grades Pre-K through 12 and offer a well-rounded, rigorous curriculum within a Christian-centered worldview.

We provide a Christian teaching environment without denominational restrictions and believe that "whoever will, may come."  We only ask that students and families have both the heart and the desire to learn and the willingness to explore a Christian worldview.

Accreditation

All schools are active members of the Association of Christian Schools International and fully accredited with the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools (NAAS).  Most teachers are accredited through the Teachers Standards and Practices Commission or the Association of Christian Schools International.

Athletics

Horizon Christian High School is registered with the Oregon State Activities Association (OSAA) to compete as a 3A school in District 2.  Our athletic program includes:  Fall - Football, Soccer (girls), Cross Country, and Volleyball;  Winter - Basketball (boys and girls);  Spring - Baseball, Softball and Track and Field.
